BREAKING NEWS: Pie Francois Is Last Man Rescued from Mine
--Reuters San Jose, Chile
---B R E A K I N G - N E W S ---
On Wednesday October 13, 2010, Mr. Pie Francois was the last miner rescued from the San Jose mine in Chile. No photo was available because all of the cameras stopped functioning when Mr. Francois's shiny plaid mining suit was photographed.
Photographer Luis Miguel said, "It is unbelievable, but I must have tried seventeen times to take a picture of the last miner. My camera just didn't work right."
Reporter Margarita Gomez told plaidmania that Pie was in good spirits, he just wanted to take a shower and planned to be on secondlife in an hour or so.

Chilling Pie Francois Style
Ahhhh. Where did the summer go? Well, I am up in my crib chillaxing and reminiscing about the past few months and I can't get this song out of my head.
"Shawty Imma only tell you this once
You the illest (Ba Bada Da Oh)
And for your loving
Imma die hard like Bruce Willis(Ba BaDa Da Oh)
You got spark
You (You) got spunk
You (You) got something all the girls want
You like a candy store
And Imma toddlor..."

One in a Million
Here's a thought...
From when I was only a little cupcake, I remember people saying to me, "You know young man, you are one in a million." My eyes would get really big and I would say thank you to whosoever complimented me.
Now, as I reflect upon that phrase I am troubled. The world population is overflowing with a projected 6,865,942,377 by September 2010. If someone is one in a million that would mean that there are 6,866 people like me. (Sorry Beyonce' Knowles, your song no longer resonates with me. It turns out after all that I am replaceable.)
Thankfully, being one in a million on Second Life would be a compliment, because at least in SL, there are only 65,000 people at a time.
Though, I need not worry to be truthful with you. I have never been called one in a million on Second Life.

A More Serious Note
Recent comments on this blog have made me take serious action to protect the integrity of both this blog and myself. It is shameful that I, Pie Francois, have to make the following statements. This blog of mine began as an outlet for me to improve my English and a means which made me able to give back to the Second Life Community as well as my friends in the metaverse. I have used this blog to inform followers and visitors of various events going on in Second Life. I have provided links to items on the Internet that I have found interesting. Recently, I introduced the Plaidmania Citizen of the Day, which has been successful in building up the character in the people who have won the coveted award. Therefore, I will no longer tolerate disparaging comments about other avatars made by useless trolls and douchebags.
(Of course since I am the creator of Plaidmania, I still reserve the right to make obscene statements about avatars as I see fit.)
I have contacted Linden Labs, the State of California, my local law enforcement, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations. I filed complaints with them and am cooperating with them by turning over all comments to the preceding respective departments. Now, the First Amendment of the Constitution grants us freedom of Expression, no matter how distasteful and disgusting. The comments are not the main issue that I am concerend with. What is most important is that stalking is a terrible crime that may be going on in Second Life to actually affect certain first lives.
So stalkers be forewarned. Plaidmania will never tolerate your bullshit.

Happy Independence Day
And other random thoughts for my friends.
I am more accustomed to say "Have a good 4th of July!" Also, to my Canadian friends I say Happy Canada Day. And to my European friends, just have a nice day and quit being grumpy.
I declare my least favorite English word is Austerity. Second Place goes to Door-Busters.
Recently, I discovered Chatroulette. I met many people who like to show off their genitalia. How interesting it is that they do not show their faces.
I have a habit in real life of asking women, "Edward or Jacob?" instead of the usual Hello, Good Afternoon.

Good Article in LA Times about Music Scene
There was an informative article today in the Los Angeles Times about the music scene. Which as I write this I listen to an excellent artist named Andreus (Anj) Gustafson. I'll say it a hundred, if not a thousand times, listening to live concerts in Second Life is one of the most practical uses of this technology.
Even if you don't like all the other drama that goes on, then your only reason to go on Second Life should be the concerts.

Congratulations to Caidence of LacieCakes
Caidence is named Plaidmania's Citizen of the Day. If you see Caidence, tell her how proud you are that she has received this honor. While awarding her citizen of the day, Plaidmania took special note of the store LacieCakes, and found it to be an exquisite place. Laciecakes should definitely be checked out if you are in world. Plaidmania also met the kind Lacie Chambers. If you are ever at LacieCakes, tell the friendly females that Good Ol' Pie Francois sent you.

Loya Jirga Declared A Success
In the early hours of Thursday June 3, 2010, a Loya Jirga (Grand Council) was conducted in Second Life. This Loya Jirga was one of the most successful in the history of all Loya Jirgas. Though, the Jirga did begin with some controversies.
Solomon Chakrabarti started off cursing Pie Francois's mustache. (Cursing a mustache is an insult in the Arab world.) Mr. Francois explained to Solomon that this was absurd because Pie did not have a mustache at the moment of the curse.
Also, Fang Aries showed up with black duct tape over her breasts. This was due to over the misinterpretation of the Loya Jirga, which she had thought was a Royal Jerk Off.
It is important to note that this particular Loya Jirga had in attendance more women than men.
In the middle of the Jirga that lasted about 20 minutes, Solomon, Deano, and Quinby decided it would be good for a magic carpet ride. Then pizza and pop was served.
The members of the Loya Jirga were Deano, Quinby, Amanita, Pie, Fang, Bella, and Solomon.
Six resolutions were accepted by the Loya Jirga.
1. We will blame Israel for ANY of our problems.
2. Plaidistan will be established next to one of the other Stans in the region (perhaps Ihateyoustan).
3. The Lollipops for AK-47s and Poppies initiative will be implemented.
4. Allowing young men to have their hair cut in the "Titanic" style.
5. Deciding who keeps the liquor from the Kabul Hotel.
6. Choosing the players of the National Buzkashi Team (the sport where men ride on horses and use a headless carcass of a goat or calf as a ball, similar to polo).
"All in all, this Loya Jirga was fun. We definitely should do this another time. Perhaps we should do this with more people," said Pie Francois.
